Day 12 - Oklahoma

I arrived in Tulsa Monday evening. I spent all day Tuesday exploring the area.Tulsa is where The Outsiders was filmed, so I tried to visit the museum and the house featured in the movie. Unfortunately, both were closed, as were the Bob Dylan Center and the Woody Guthrie Center. I was still able to get some pictures of the exteriors. From there, I headed over to the Pearl District, which had plenty of interesting sights, Giants, shops, and historic buildings to explore. My next stop was Sapulpa and Gasoline Alley. The building was once a Model T manufacturing facility, and it was fascinating to see how the historic site has been preserved and repurposed. Be sure to check out the pictures! Tomorrow, Wednesday, I’ll leave the Route 66 area and head south to the Choctaw Casino & RV Resort to meet up with my cousin, Ronnie. I’ll be back on Route 66 on Friday!
