Day 15 - Santa Fe
Tucumcari, Santa Rosa and Santa Fe Driving into Tucumcari, as soon as you turn on to Route 66 coming off the interstate you recognize the Blue Swallow Motel with the baby-blue doors and rotary phones for each room which has been around since 1940. Then a block down is Motel Safari with a camel on their sign, a Tee Pee trading Post and the welcome center all in walking distance. This town makes you think you are still in the 40's-50's. On to Santa Rosa to see the Blue Hole. Next I headed towards Santa Fe by way of the Original Route 66. I had no idea they realigned the Route and took Santa Fe out and went straight through Albuquerque which happened in 1937. I tried to get downtown but it was quite crowded due to a Market they were having so there was no parking for my RV. While I was looking I stumbled on the Art District. Enjoy the pictures.
