Days 2 & 3
Headed from Tennessee to Indianapolis, with rain for most of the drive, so I didn't have many opportunities to take photos along the way. I did make time for dinner at St. Elmo Steak House, and as always, it did not disappoint. On Day 3, I left Indianapolis and traveled the first stretch of Historic Route 66 on my way to Chicago. I hope you enjoy the photos from the road. One of the highlights of the day was meeting some wonderful people in the small town of Normal, Illinois. Terry Rayburn and her neighbor, Chris, were incredibly welcoming and shared a wealth of information about their community. A fun fact I learned is that Normal is home to Rivian's manufacturing facility, where the company builds its electric vehicles, including electric delivery trucks for Amazon. Day 4 will include a little more of Route 66 before I head north, off the beaten path, to spend a couple of days visiting my brother in Minnesota. Looking forward to the next leg of the journey!
