DAYS 27-31 GYPSUM-GOLD HILL-GOLDEN-COLORADOSPRINGS

Back on the Road — and Back on the Grid Well, I have literally been off the grid for a few days, but I’m finally back at it! There’s a lot to catch up on, so let’s get rolling. When I last left off, I was headed toward Gold Hill, but I had one more stop to make first. I landed in Gypsum and spent Thursday night at River Dance RV Park, which sits right along the Colorado River. Not a bad place to stop for the night! And Thursday night just happened to be the night of the lunar eclipse. Talk about perfect timing! I had an absolutely fantastic view and watched it for several hours, all the way through the complete eclipse. It was really something to see. Unfortunately, my trusty iPhone was NOT impressed with the eclipse and decided it was not going to cooperate when it came to taking pictures. So, sorry—no amazing eclipse photos! You’ll just have to imagine how incredible it looked. Trust me, it was worth staying up for! The next morning, I headed over to Kort and Amy’s for a couple of days. I met some really great people who were there for the Moors & McCumber concert on Friday and Saturday. What a GREAT weekend! There’s something pretty special about getting to see the boys play, but getting to see them perform right there at Kort and Amy’s place made it even better. Good music, great people, and, of course, a little Bear sighting right there on the property. And speaking of unexpected visitors…I think the bear was trying to get into Kort’s Pub! 😂 I’ve added some pictures of Buddy Bear for those of you who know exactly what I’m talking about. And for everyone else…well, IYKYK! 🐻 Golden — and a Little Beer Detour, I left on Sunday and headed toward Golden. One of my plans was to take the Coors Brewery Tour, but apparently everyone else had the same idea because they were completely sold out. So, naturally, I had to improvise. I went straight to the Hospitality Area to sample some beer instead. 🍺I know…you’re shocked. LOL! I also spent some time walking around downtown Golden along Washington Street. It’s a really nice area with lots of shops, restaurants, and plenty to explore. Definitely worth a stroll if you’re in the area. From Golden, I continued on to Colorado Springs, which is where I am now, staying at Garden of the Gods RV Resort. And WOW—the views! I’m sitting here typing this while looking out at Pikes Peak, and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. This is one of those moments when you look around and think, Yep, this is exactly why I love traveling this way. Yesterday, I spent some time walking around Manitou Springs, which was a lot of fun. Today, I’m exploring the Old Colorado City downtown area and seeing what I can find. Tomorrow, it’s time to pack up and move again. I’ll be leaving this RV park and heading to another one about an hour away, where I’ll stay for a couple of days. And then…who knows? That’s one of the best parts of this adventure. The route keeps changing, there’s always something unexpected around the corner, and somehow there’s usually a little wine or beer involved along the way. 😂🍺 Until the next stop…keep following along!
